Mariel Bosserman, ARNP, has been working with the Center for New Growth since April of 2022 and practicing as a nurse and nurse practitioner for over 12 years. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami, a Masters of Science in Nursing from Florida International University and she is currently working toward her post-masters certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She has completed training for Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy through Polaris Insight Center.
During her career, Mariel has worked as a nurse and nurse practitioner in a variety of settings - from surgical nursing care in hospitals in Florida and California to being a primary care nurse practitioner in Humboldt County. It was while working within primary care that she recognized her passion for mental healthcare. She recognized the benefits of mainstream treatment but also noted that a focus on symptom management did not address the root cause of people's concerns.
Her clinical intention is to help individuals overcome trauma and suffering by connecting to their core selves. She has an integrative approach that centers the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of her care. She values her ability to listen deeply and form treatment plans based on what her clients are truly wanting for themselves. Mariel has a strong interest in the application of consciousness expanding substances for therapeutic use and recognizes how treatment with these medicines can help to accelerate the healing process, allowing a patient to move through barriers and blocks within a safe container and within the context of strong relational care.
In addition to ketamine services including medical clearances, preparation and medicine assisted sessions, Mariel partners with patients to provide psychiatric medication management, including initiating new therapies as well as discontinuing, tapering, or transitioning a client’s medications.
